Well this is what my site is about... my aquariums, fish, greenish rat snake and other random stuff that I might decide to post! My snakes name is Eagor and I got him on Sat 22/05/2004 for my birthday in Galway because it was way cheaper than my LFS and my local shop also didnt care for the animals as well as the shop where i got him. Eagor is a greenish rat snake which is a cross between a yellow and a black rat snake. I keep him in a vivarium which is built into the wardrobe in my room and has 2 levels! I also have three aquariums, I have a 40 gallon community aquarium in my bedroom as well as a small five gallon breeding tank. I also have a fifteen gallon tank which I house my two goldfish and weather loach in (i was going to put him into the tropical community aquarium but he tends to chase smaller fish!).
I have kept fish for a few years and find it a fun hobby to get into. The "aim" of this site I suppose is to give basic info on the care and maintenance of fish and snakes. Oh yeah... i have to say this:

"I am in no way an expert on fish and/ or snakes and what i say on these web pages may not be true in all cases. These are just guidelines and you should not believe everything you read or see on this website ©"

How I got into fish keeping

Well when i was about 6/ 7 I got my first fist tank, about 6 gallons I think and I kept goldfish in it. Then eventually the goldfish ended up outside in a large flowerpot where they actually lived for many years even when it froze over on winter mornings. I then used the tank to house two dwarf hamsters! I also had fish in a bowl in my room but this soon came to an end as they got a habit of jumping out from time to time and getting stepped on!!
Then we moved house and somehow my fish tank disappeared but i think it broke!! It wasn't too long though before i bought a 5 gallon tank (now my breeding tank) and kept goldfish and a weather loach in it. Then we moved house again... this time the tank and fish managed to come with us and I then got my 180 litre tank for Christmas. I set this up as a community aquarium in my room and spent alot of time and effort caring for it but now im not living at home except on weekends and holidays so unfortunitly they dont get as much care. Then I got a 15 gallon tank off of my aunt so I put the goldfish and weather loach into that and used the 5 gallon for breeding.
There is also a pond outside in our garden with a stream flowing through it, this somtimes homes small wild trout, minnows, stickle backs and often is full of eels in the mud!!
